CEO Joe Albright
Joe Albright is honored to serve as the CEO and Board Chair of the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Competition, Inc. Joe comes to the position while concurrently serving as the Chair of the Milan Tennessee Regional Planning Commission, Election Commissioner for Gibson County, and Member of the Board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for West Tennessee. Joe is Vice President for Facilities Technical Services for Universities and Schools Segments for Sodexo North America. He retired from the Army as a Colonel and then served as a Senior Army Civilian in the Office of the Secretary of the Army, before founding a leadership and management consulting firm; all prior to his current position with Sodexo. Joe has significant experience mentoring young leaders in both the government and corporate sectors, including several individuals who have attained General Officer or Civilian Equivalent rank as well as senior partners in Fortune 100 companies. He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton, Masters of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College, Masters in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee, and has completed 38 post graduate hours in Organizational Management and Leadership. Joe has been involved with the Miss America and Miss Tennessee organizations for over 20 years. In addition to numerous military awards earned during his distinguished career, Joe was named an Outstanding Intellectual for the 21st Century by Cambridge International, a Who’s Who Distinguished Humanitarian in 2018 and is a recipient of the Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award. He and his wife, Janie, reside in Milan, Tennessee and have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
Janie Evans Albright
Chief of Staff
Janie Albright has been active in the pageant world for over 46 years. Her many accomplishments include Miss America Pageant Volunteer of the Year, Director for over 25 years of the Miss Milan Crown and Scepter Scholarship Pageant, and mentor for numerous state title holders from Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky, including the current Miss Tennessee and the former Miss America, Kellye Cash.
Janie holds advanced degrees in education and retired after 39 years as an Educator and Administrator. She serves as a recruiter for Metropolitan Model Agency in Paris, France and New York City.
An avid domestic and international traveler, she has toured over 20 countries highlighted by Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Russia, and Thailand. Her favorite place is Times Square and Broadway in New York City.
Leading the Miss Tennessee Organization since December 2018, Joe and Janie have a shared vision with Miss America “to prepare great women for the world, and prepare the world for great women.”
Dr. Colene Trent
Dr. Colene Trent is an Economics professor at Union University. Colene was a two-time First Runner-Up to Miss Alabama and a five-time local titleholder in the Miss Alabama Scholarship Pageant. During her years of competition in Miss Alabama, Colene received over $50,000 in college scholarships which she used in obtaining her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Economics as well as her MBA from the University of North Alabama. Colene received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Mississippi and now teaches classes in microeconomics, international economics, managerial economics, and personal finance.
in her free time, she loves volunteering at her church, Englewood North Campus, and traveling with her husband, David, who is a worship leader and Christian singer-songwriter. Colene and her husband recently became parents, welcoming their son, Paxton, in January 2020.
A native of South Mississippi, Belinda is a graduate of Belhaven University and the Ole Miss School of Banking. For nearly a decade, served local executive director for a Miss Mississippi triple crown preliminary. Married to her husband, Joey for over 27 years, she is the proud Mom to two sons, Blake and Brock. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her son play baseball, traveling and being entertained by her fur babies, Rusty, an energetic GoldenDoodle and Buster, a grumpy Chihuahua.

COO Katherine Tosh
A native of Gibson County, she grew up competing in pageants, and later moved on to work in the beauty industry as a licensed hair and makeup artist. She is a 2004 graduate of Arnold’s Beauty School in Milan, TN. She received her B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee-Martin in 2012 where she graduated in the Inaugural Class of the National Forensic Academy Collegiate Program. Katherine is a Board Member with Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville, TN which serves 46 counties in Tennessee. She also serves on The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center Board of Directors in Huntingdon, Tennessee. Katherine is married to Jamey Tosh, where they together with Jamey’s family, own and operate Tosh Farms/Tosh Pork/Bacon By Gosh in Henry, TN. They have three children, Brayden age 14, Coleton age 8 and Hartleigh age 3. Katherine feels that by giving her time and gifts to the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Competition, she is able to help young women find their voice, path and most importantly, their destiny in life.
Outstanding Teen Director
Hollie Alexander was born & raised in Gallatin, Tennessee. She was a competitive dancer & cheerleader for 24 years, winning several state, national and world titles. Hollie graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's degree in History & Political Science. During college she was the captain of the MTSU Dance Team, intern with the house agriculture committee with the Tennessee House of Representatives, and represented MTSU at the 2010 Miss Tennessee Competition (Miss America Organization) as Miss Middle Tennessee Blue Raider. After graduating from MTSU she worked doing marketing for companies and politicians. She was the campaign director for former State Representative Mike Mcdonald. For the last 8 years Hollie has been an educator. She is a level 5 highly qualified teacher for the State of Tennessee. Hollie is the state director for Miss Tennessee's Outstanding Teen which is the state competition to Miss America's Outstanding Teen. The Tennessee Outstanding Teen program awards over $10,000 in college scholarships annually. In her down time Hollie enjoys running, working out, watching movies & spending time with her husband Chris.
David Ashley Trent
David Ashley Trent is a singer/songwriter and worship leader from Jackson, Tennessee. For the past eleven years, David has traveled full-time, performing his original songs and serving as a guest worship leader in churches across the Southeast. He has written and produced four full-length Contemporary Christian albums and continues to hone his craft by collaborating with other like-minded songwriters in Nashville. He currently serves as a lead worship pastor for Englewood Baptist Church's North Campus in Medina, Tennessee. David is a recent national overall winner of the Cantinas Worship Song Contest. His album, Heart of Stone, was named "Album of the Year" at the 2019 Tennessee Music Awards. David is a loving husband to his wife, Colene and a devoted father to his son, Paxton.

Phil Shirley is from Sherwood, Arkansas, and currently lives in Nashville where he is employed as an Audiovisual/Video Conference Specialist with UBS Financial. Over the past 30+ years he has held many roles while working in the Entertainment, Television and Live Event Technology industry. He has an over 15+ year relationship with the Miss Tennessee/Miss America Organization as a certified judge and more recently as a regional field director. His daughter, Kelsi, is 23 years old and lives in Chattanooga.

He represents a range of clients in complex
cross-border public and private M&A transactions. Paul’s has particular experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. Paul earned his JD, cum laude, at Pace University School of Law where he was a member of the Pace International Law Review. Paul received his BA, magna cum laude, from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to becoming an attorney, Paul lived and worked in Japan.
