I am Mason Progar, a seventeen-year-old senior competing at Miss Tennessee this June! I have been blessed to represent Milan, Tennessee as Miss Tennessee Waltz. My social impact is International Smiles. I collect and donate dental supplies for people who have little to no access to dental care. My journey with the Miss America organization began in 2018 with the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization. Being crowned as Miss Lexington’s Outstanding Teen gave me a stepping stone into the Miss America Organization. The Miss Tennessee scholarship competition has continued to motivate me, improve me, and supply me with incredible connections and friendships.
My career ambition is to obtain a degree in dental surgery. I have had a passion for medicine since I attended the National Youth Leadership Forum for medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. I have been accepted into Maryville college, where I will study dentistry in order to continue to use my social impact to help others. Dentistry is very important to me and plan to use my passions to help others in a positive way. I have been able to donate over 4,000 dental care items for the United States, El Salvador, and Africa!
Other than competing and working on International Smiles, I enjoy performing in musicals, riding my horse, Topper, and being myself as an average teenager. I am a senior at Eagleville High School where I pride myself in being a duel enrollment student, an officer for our school drama club, and a member of my school’s Thespian Honor Society. I have had the chance to express myself and work hard to grow as a singer, dancer, and actor by participating in the Addams Family: The Musical and Footloose: The Musical. While off the stage, I spend most of my time at the barn with my Appendix gelding, Topper. Horse riding has always been a passion of mine and my favorite way to unwind and relax.
I am blessed to have begun my journey to Miss Tennessee and I cannot wait to see what God has in store!
